Summary (UNIT 13): WWI and The Russian Revolution
WWI began when Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in Austria. After his assassination Austria blamed Serbia and declared War. This small conflict then turned into a bigger due to, Imperialism and Allies. Imperialism lead them to believe that their nation was stronger than the other nation, and allies only made the conflict much worse as they just made more people get involved in the war; so many countries joined the war that it was no longer a two nation war but a global war. However the US didn't join because of Alliances, Instead The us joined because Germans sank down a US cruise ship with their submarine.
The images above show WWI(Top two from the left) and the Russian Revolution(Third one on right).
The Russian Revolution:
The Russian Revolution's effect caused for Russia to end autocratic rule and establish a government system of Communism/socialist. This was important because it was the first time ever when a global super power became Communist and spread it outwards towards the world; people would then later protest and fight back for the old government system, however they lost and Russia remained a communist nation.
