Unit 10: Industrial Revolution, Capitalism, Communism
During around the late 1700's America and parts of Europe stopped doing labor and production manually and switched to machines. This period of time was called the Industrial Revolution; it was a time when manufacturing exploded and factories popped left and right as people began to move to Urban areas. people were forced to urban areas because factories were shutting down their businesses for factories produced goods at a much faster and higher rate. When people worked in factories, the government had been told by the business owners that they wanted laise faire. So they established Capitalism; this meant that a business owner could do whatever he wanted with his business without punishment. So there was allot of abuse and unfairness in companies who owned companies because they paid workers small amounts of money, enclosed them in a hot and windowless building and also didn't keep a safe and clean environment. Workers would then soon grow tired of the abuse and revolt for better pay and circumstances in their jobs. Workers would form Labor unions in order to achieve what they demanded for.
